Presenting the TeraScoop Digital Virgin Inc. has developed and is producing the TeraScoop line of RAID arrays for the PowerMac G5 line of Apple Computers.
The TeraScoop is a large capacity high speed RAID array that replaces the side cover on the G5 and now the Mac Pro.
The TeraScoop provides additional storage space without interfering with the internal cooling or power supply of the Mac.
The TeraScoop Line has an option for silent operation that incorporates a liquid cooling system.
The TeraScoop uses server class high reliability versions of common SATA II hard drives. The use of server class drives provides the highest reliability and the lowest noise levels that the drive manufactures currently offer. By using server class drives the TeraScoop avoids the pitfalls of Retail Consumer drive reliability.
The interconnect between the TeraScoop and the Mac is provided through 4X Infiniband Multilane SATA II 3.0 gbs. The TeraScoop comes bundled with HighPoint’s RocketRAID Controller and software provided on a USB flash Drive. The TeraScoop includes an attractive carry case and protective sleeve to protect the original side cover.
